MEANING
I invoke the radiant Goddess Lakshmi, golden in complexion like deer, adorned with garlands of gold and silver. O Jataveda (Agni), bring unto me that effulgent Lakshmi who shines like the moon and is made of gold.

हिरण्यवर्णां हरिणीं सुवर्णरजतस्रजाम् । चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥

MEANING
O Jataveda (Agni), invoke for me that Lakshmi who is of golden complexion, soft like a deer, adorned with garlands of gold and silver, brilliant like the moon, and radiant with the luster of gold.

तां म आवह जातवेदो लक्ष्मीमनपगामिनीम् । यस्यां हिरण्यं विन्देयं गामश्वं पुरुषानहम् ॥
Tam Ma Avaha Jatavedo Lakshmim Anapagaminim | Yasyam Hiranyam Vindeyam Gamasham Purushanahama ||
MEANING
O Jataveda, invoke for me that Lakshmi who never leaves, by whose grace I may obtain gold, cattle, horses, and progeny.

अश्वपूर्वां रथमध्यां हस्तिनादप्रबोधिनीम् । श्रियं देवीमुपह्वये श्रीर्मा देवी जुषताम् ॥
Ashvapurvam Rathamadhyam Hastinadaprabodhinim | Shriyam Devimupahvaye Shrir Ma Devi Jushatam ||
MEANING
I invoke that Goddess Lakshmi who is heralded by horses, chariots in the middle, awakened by the sound of elephants. May the auspicious Goddess Lakshmi be pleased with me.

कां सोस्मितां हिरण्यप्राकारामार्द्रां ज्वलन्तीं तृप्तां तर्पयन्तीम् । पद्मे स्थितां पद्मवर्णां तामिहोपह्वये श्रियम् ॥
Kam Sosmitam Hiranyaprakararam Ardram Jvalantim Triptam Tarpayantim | Padme Sthitam Padmavarnam Tamihopahvaye Shriyam ||
MEANING
I invoke that Goddess Shri who is smiling, resplendent with golden aura, wet with compassion, blazing with effulgence, satisfied and satisfying all, seated on a lotus and having the color of lotus.

चन्द्रां प्रभासां यशसा ज्वलन्तीं श्रियं लोके देवजुष्टामुदाराम् । तां पद्मिनीमीं शरणमहं प्रपद्येऽलक्ष्मीर्मे नश्यतां त्वां वृणे ॥
Chandram Prabhasam Yashasa Jvalantim Shriyam Loke Devajushtamudaram | Tam Padminimim Sharanamahama Prapadyelalakshmirme Nashyatam Tvam Vrne ||
MEANING
I take refuge in that Goddess Lakshmi who shines like the moon, blazing with glory, worshipped by all the gods, magnanimous, seated on a lotus. May my misfortune perish; I choose you as my refuge.

आदित्यवर्णे तपसोऽधिजातो वनस्पतिस्तव वृक्षोऽथ बिल्वः । तस्य फलानि तपसा नुदन्तु मायान्तरायाश्च बाह्या अलक्ष्मीः ॥
Adityavarne Tapaso'dhijato Vanaspatistava Vrksho'tha Bilvah | Tasya Phalani Tapasa Nudantu Mayantarayashcha Bahya Alakshmih ||
MEANING
O Goddess of golden hue, born of austerity, the tree that is dear to you is the Bilva tree. May its fruits, by your grace, ward off all internal and external misfortunes and poverty.

उपैतु मां देवसखः कीर्तिश्च मणिना सह । प्रादुर्भूतोऽस्मि राष्ट्रेऽस्मिन् कीर्तिमृद्धिं ददातु मे ॥
Upaitu Mam Devasakha Kirtishcha Manina Saha | Pradurbhuto'smi Rashtre'smin Kirtimrddhim Dadatu Me ||
MEANING
May fame, the friend of gods, along with prosperity, come to me. I have manifested in this kingdom. May glory and prosperity be bestowed upon me.

क्षुत्पिपासामलां ज्यष्ठामलक्ष्मीं नाशयाम्यहम् । अभूतिमसमृद्धिं च सर्वां निर्णुद मे गृहात् ॥
Kshutpipasamalam Jyeshthamalakshmim Nashayamyaham | Abhutim Asamrddhim Cha Sarvam Nirnuda Me Grhat ||
MEANING
I destroy hunger, thirst, impurity, the elder sister Alakshmi. Drive away from my home all misfortune and poverty.

गन्धद्वारां दुराधर्षां नित्यपुष्टां करीषिणीम् । ईश्वरीं सर्वभूतानां तामिहोपह्वये श्रियम् ॥
Gandhadvaram Duradharsharm Nityapushtam Karishinim | Ishvarim Sarvabhutanam Tamihopahvaye Shriyam ||
MEANING
I invoke that Goddess Shri who is fragrant as the earth, invincible, eternally nourished, the sustainer of all, and the controller of all beings.

मनसः काममाकूतिं वाचः सत्यमशीमहि । पशूनां रूपमन्नस्य मयि श्रीः श्रयतां यशः ॥
Manasah Kamam Akutim Vachah Satyam Ashimahi | Pashunam Rupam Annasya Mayi Shrih Shrayatam Yashah ||
MEANING
May we attain the desire of the mind, the intention, and the truth of speech. May the form of cattle and food, glory and prosperity abide in me.

कर्दमेन प्रजाभूता मयि सम्भव कर्दम । श्रियं वासय मे कुले मातरं पद्ममालिनीम् ॥
Kardamena Prajabhuta Mayi Sambhava Kardama | Shriyam Vasaya Me Kule Mataram Padmamalinim ||
MEANING
You were born of Sage Kardama. O Kardama, appear before me. Install Mother Lakshmi, adorned with lotus garlands, in my lineage.

आपः सृजन्तु स्निग्धानि चिक्लीत वस मे गृहे । नि च देवीं मातरं श्रियं वासय मे कुले ॥
Apah Srjantu Snigdhani Chiklita Vasa Me Grhe | Ni Cha Devim Mataram Shriyam Vasaya Me Kule ||
MEANING
May the waters create affection. O Chiklita (goddess of moisture), reside in my home. Install Mother Lakshmi in my lineage.

आर्द्रां पुष्करिणीं पुष्टिं पिङ्गलां पद्ममालिनीम् । चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥
Ardram Pushkarinim Pushtim Pingalam Padmamalinim | Chandram Hiranmayim Lakshmim Jatavedo Ma Avaha ||
MEANING
O Jataveda, invoke for me that Lakshmi who is moist with compassion, lotus-eyed, nourishing, golden-hued, adorned with lotus garlands, brilliant like the moon, and made of gold.

आर्द्रां यः करिणीं यष्टिं सुवर्णां हेममालिनीम् । सूर्यां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥
Ardram Yah Karinim Yashtim Suvarnam Hemamalinim | Suryam Hiranmayim Lakshmim Jatavedo Ma Avaha ||
MEANING
O Jataveda, invoke for me that Lakshmi who is moist with compassion, elephant-faced, auspicious, golden, adorned with golden garlands, radiant like the sun, and made of gold.

तां म आवह जातवेदो लक्ष्मीमनपगामिनीम् । यस्यां हिरण्यं प्रभूतं गावो दास्योऽश्वान् विन्देयं पुरुषानहम् ॥
Tam Ma Avaha Jatavedo Lakshmim Anapagaminim | Yasyam Hiranyam Prabhutam Gavo Dasyo'shvan Vindeyam Purushanahama ||
MEANING
O Jataveda, invoke for me that Lakshmi who never departs, by whose grace I may obtain abundant gold, cattle, servants, horses, and progeny.

यः शुचिः प्रयतो भूत्वा जुहुयादाज्यमन्वहम् । सूक्तं पञ्चदशर्चं च श्रीकामः सततं जपेत् ॥
Yah Shuchih Prayato Bhutva Juhuyad Ajyam Anvaham | Suktam Panchadasharcham Cha Shrikamah Satatam Japet ||
MEANING
One who is pure and devoted, offering ghee daily, and constantly reciting this fifteen-versed hymn with desire for prosperity, will be blessed.
